Privacy policy

When you create an account we collect your email address, a hashed password, the plan you choose and the confirmation code we send you. We store when your account was created and confirmed.

When you dictate, your audio is sent over an encrypted connection to be turned into text. Audio is processed to produce text and deleted right after transcription. We do not keep recordings.

We store your cleaned results in your history (unless you switch history off), your personal dictionary, snippets and custom styles. Text history is encrypted at rest.

When you try the demo without an account, we store the demo result, your IP address and a demo limit cookie to allow one demo per visitor and per day, and to prevent abuse. Demo results are deleted after 30 days.

Our payment provider processes your card details. We receive only limited billing information, such as your plan, billing period, payment status and, for teams, invoice details. We never see your full card number.

We record IP addresses, browser type and basic logs needed for security, debugging and preventing abuse. We may record how you found us (referrer and campaign tags in the link) when you sign up.

• To provide the service you asked for, including dictation, cleanup, history and your account (performance of a contract).
• To process payments, issue invoices and meet tax and accounting duties (contract and legal obligation).
• To send sign-in codes and essential account emails (contract).
• To keep the service secure, enforce minute limits and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
• To answer your messages to support (contract or legitimate interest).

We never use your audio or text to train models. We never sell your data. We do not use advertising cookies or advertising trackers.

We share data only with service providers that help us run the service, under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing services to us:

• A hosting provider for our servers and database.
• A speech and language model provider that turns audio into cleaned text.
• A payment provider that handles subscriptions and payments.
• An email delivery provider for sign-in codes and account emails.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

Some providers may process data outside your country. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

• Audio is deleted right after transcription.
• History is kept until you delete it, switch history off, or your plan's history period ends (30 days on Personal).
• Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted after you close it, except where the law requires us to keep billing records.
• Demo results are deleted after 30 days.
• Security logs are kept for a limited period needed to protect the service.

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy in a portable format. You can delete all your data in one click in your account settings, export your history on Pro and Team, or email [email protected]. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Data is encrypted in transit, and text history is encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.

The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and tell account holders by email about significant changes.
