Is it better than the dictation built into my Mac or phone?
Built-in dictation writes down every word, including the ums, restarts and missing punctuation. VoiceTyping cleans the text, adds punctuation and paragraphs, spells your names from your dictionary and shapes the result for email, chat or documents, so you send it instead of fixing it.
Do I need to install anything?
No. VoiceTyping works in your browser on Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android. You can install it as a web app to your Dock, taskbar or home screen, and add the extension for Chrome or Edge to dictate into any text field on the web.
Which apps does it work in?
With the extension, any text field in Chrome or Edge, including Gmail, Outlook on the web, Slack, Notion, Google Docs, LinkedIn and ChatGPT. On a phone you dictate in the installed web app and copy or share the text into any app with one tap.
How accurate is it with names and jargon?
Speech recognition handles everyday words very well. For client names, product names and industry terms, add them to your dictionary once and VoiceTyping uses them every time.
What happens to my recordings?
Your audio is processed to produce text and deleted right after transcription. It is never used to train models. Text history is encrypted at rest and you can turn it off or delete it all in one click.
What languages does it support?
English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Dutch and more. VoiceTyping detects the language automatically, and on Pro and Team you can translate while you dictate.
What does a minute include and what if I run out?
A minute is one minute of recorded speech, cleaned and styled. Each plan has a monthly allowance and a daily cap. When you reach it, dictation pauses until the next day or the next billing month, or you move to a higher plan. There are no top-ups or credits.
Can my team share a dictionary?
Yes. On the Team plan everyone uses a shared dictionary and shared styles, so product and client names are always spelled the same way.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time from your account. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for and does not renew.
Is there a refund?
Payments are final. We refund only a double charge, a charge you did not authorize, or a period when the service did not work at all. Details are in the refund policy.
